Mariam, a 32-year-old woman and a mother of two, faced the unfortunate diagnosis of adrenal cancer. Hailing from a modest family the family’s income proved insufficient to meet the escalating financial demands, compelling them to seek external assistance. Mariam’s battle with cancer was compounded by severe pain as the disease progressed. Through the collaborative efforts of GCCE-UK with the Tema centre, she was provided vital support until she peacefully passed away in March 2023.
Mariam was known for her strong attachment to serve the Lord by, among other things, cleaning the church. She had a tremendous amount of love to all people and told those leading the Pope Shenouda Hospice service of her praying for Lynne Potter and Nabil Isshak during their visit to the service. This great lady, rich in spirituality, was from a modest family, her husband, the main breadwinner, works as a free seller. بائع متجول . The oldest of the two children of the family, in the final year of his GCSE, had to work to help.
Apart from the precarious income and desperate financial needs, Mariam was experiencing severe pain as the cancer spread, requiring more support from the service. She, however, maintained her belief in the blessings she was receiving, and reminding others her suffering is nothing to compare with that of The Virgin St Mary. Mariam spent most last days in hospital. She departed in March 2023.
