خدمة الرعاية التلطيفية بعزبة النخل
تمت أخر زيارة لمركز الرعاية بعزبة النخل (معروف بأجتماع الفرح) ، الملحق بكنيسة أبوسيفين يوم 5 مايو 2018، قام بها نبيل صبري اسحق ، و سامي واصف. وقدم لهما الأب قس جرجس زكي تقرير عن الخدمة وميزانية الصرف عن عام 2017
عدد المرضى التي يتم حالياً رعايتهم هو 65، منهم 52 يترددوا على قاعة “خدمة اليوم”، و 13 يتم زيارتهم في منازلهم، وعدد الخدام حوالي 17، ويقود الخدمة الأب جرجس، ومعه مدام سحر ابراهيم والدكتورة مريم عبد الملاك ومدام نعمة ابراهيم
خدمة “قضاء اليوم” تكون كل يوم سبت حيث يـُقــَدَم للمرضى برنامج روحي وترفيهي ، ووجبات أكل وشرب. وفي المناسبات الخاصة والأعياد تقام لهم احتفالات مع توزيع الهدايا. وفي معظم الأوقات يصطحب الخدام المرضى القادرين على الحركة في رحلة إلى دير من الأديرة أو منتجع ترفيهي أو مصيف
ويقوم خدام احد كنائس منطقة التجمع في القاهرة الجديدة باستضافة مرضى الأورام، مرة كل شهر حيث يقوم بالكشف عليهم استشاري أورام، وتـُصــّرف لهم الأدوية، بالأضافة إلى تقديم وجبة غذاء وهدايا
أما المرضى في المراحل المتأخرة فيلقوا ، هم وافراد اسرتهم، عناية خاصة وتعضيد في منازلهم، وفي حالة انتقالهم إلى السماء، يشارك بعض الخدام حسب وقتهم وظروفهم في حضور الجناز وتقديم واجب العزاء
Last visited by Nabil Isshak and Samy on Sat 5 May 2018, meeting patients & service staff. Fr Girgis Zaki updated them on the service and provided a financial report for the year 2017.
The current number of patients served is sixty five, fifty two attending the Day Room service and thirteen get visited at home. The serving volunteers, about seventeen , are led by Fr Girgis, Mrs Sahar Ibrahim, Dr Mariam Abd-al-Malak, and Mrs Ne3ma Ibrahim
- Day room patients attends every Saturday, brought to the hall where they gather by the volunteers. A full combined entertainment and spiritual program is provided, and meals are served
- Special programs and presents distribution entertained in special occasions like Christmas and Mother Day
- A monthly outing to holiday resorts or religious sites takes place
- Day Room patients get examined by a senior oncologist, provided medicines, and entertained, once a month, by a group of volunteers from Altagamo3 Church, كنيسة في التجمع , منطقة New Cairo
Patients passing through terminal phase are visited at home or in hospital, supported, he or her, and the family. If death follows, some volunteers attend the funeral and condolences given to the family

HISTORY
In Nov 2009 DR Khalil Gamal, Chairman of Christian Medical Fellowship met Dr Nabil Isshak 0n recommendation of Drs Samira and Gamal Gabra to discuss a possible construction of a palliative care centre in Ezbet-el-Nakhl.
Ezbet-el-Nakhl is mostly a poor district of Cairo with high people density. Khalil Gamal is a friend and colleague of Samira and Gamal at university and has shared in many palliative care conferences held in Egypt. Following a visit by Samira and Gamal, and another one by Frank Neil and Nabil Isshak, meeting Khalil Gamal, Members of GCCE-UK have consented, and were enthusiastic to work along the Christian Medical Fellowship on that initiative
في نوفمبر 2009 تم التواصل بين الدكتور خليل الجمل رئيس مجلس ادارة الجمعية الطبية المسيحية في مصر وبين د.نبيل اسحق بناء على توصية الدكتورة سميرة اسكندر جبرة والدكتور جمال جبرة أعضاء مجلس ادارة جلوبال مصر- انجلترا لبحث امكانية أقامة مركز رعاية أراحية (تلطيفية) في منطقة عزبة النخل وهي أحد مناطق القاهرة المكتظة بالسكان وغالبيتهم من محدودي الدخل. و الدكتور خليل الجمل زميل وصديق الدكتورة سميرة اسكندر جبرة والدكتور جمال جبرة منذ أيام الجامعة، وقد شارك في عدد من مؤتمرات الرعاية الأراحية التي تم عقدها في مصر
| Khalil suggested start pall. Care service at ”Nahr Al-Hayaat” Hospital in Ezbet Al-Nakhl, and Gamal and Samira visited the hospital in Jan 2010, and met its director, Dr Bahier Wadi3. Khalil Gamal, Baheir, Samira, and Gamal discussed terms of the agreement to be presented to other members of GCCE-UK Committee in their meeting of the 19th May 2010.

On 22 August 2010 a memorandum of understanding was made to define hospital staff who will serve in the palliative care unit and their accountability to CMF Egypt and to GCCE-UK, and the kind of service cancer patients are expected to receive.
It was agreed the CMF send twice a year reports on the progress of the service, and the GCCE-UK provide training and financial support.

MOVING THE SERVICE TO A CHURCH ABO-SEFEAN SERVICE BUILDING
After three years of establishing the palliative care service at Nahr-al-Hayat Hospital, under The name ‘Oasis’, it was decided to move it to Abo-Sefaen Church, still in Ezbet-al-Nakhl. Dr Khalil Al-Gamal president of Christian Medical Fellowship in Egypt and Dr Gamal Gabra, a GCCE-UK member advised Dr Nabil Isshak of the cessation of the service at the hospital. As a result, and following a few meetings in Egypt especially one on December 2014, it was decided to move the service to St Mary Church.
Two meetings were held at St Mary Church in March 2015 attended by Dr Mariam Abd-al-Malak, a new volunteer, as representative of GCCE-UK, and Dr Alice Abo-al-Khair, representative of the CMF. A young dedicated priest, Father Girgis Zaki, shortly after joined the service, and in November 2015 he met with Lynne Potter, Samy Wassef and Nabil Isshak during their visit to Egypt. The discussion conducted in that meeting was about the preference of the service location between St Mary and St Abo-Sefaen churches. Two months later the second church was finally agreed upon and the GCCE-UK arranged with Fr Girgis to send its financial help directly to that church account.
