St Luke Hospice

GCCE-UK established an official twinning with St Luke Hospice, Sheffield in 2007. This partnership was established through communication between Lynne Potter, a Specialist Palliative Nurse and GCCE-UK committee member, and Judith Park, the Deputy Chief Executive of St. Luke Hospice. The affiliation with St Luke Hospice has been instrumental in supporting the training of Egyptian doctors and nurses in palliative care. Through this partnership, valuable knowledge and expertise are shared, empowering healthcare professionals in Egypt to provide quality end-of-life care to their patients. The link established with St Luke Hospice has facilitated ongoing support for Lynne Potter’s visits to Egypt. As a specialist palliative nurse and committee member of GCCE-UK, Lynne’s visits contribute to capacity building, knowledge exchange, and hands-on support in implementing palliative care practices. The official twinning between GCCE-UK and St Luke Hospice, Sheffield, has created a strong collaboration in the field of palliative care. Through this affiliation, training opportunities for Egyptian doctors and nurses have been established, leading to enhanced care for patients in Egypt. Additionally, the support provided to Lynne Potter’s visits to Egypt strengthens the partnership and fosters ongoing exchange of expertise and best practices in palliative care.
