GCCE-UK is committed to supporting palliative care centres in Egypt through their fundraising efforts. Each year, GCCE-UK sends financial support to these centres, which plays a crucial role in ensuring their smooth operation. Roughly £50,000 yearly are raised to support the palliative care centres. The funds raised by GCCE-UK contribute to various aspects of the centres’ functioning, including the payment for renting beds from hospitals and covering assistant nurse salaries. Additionally, these funds enable the centres to organise and facilitate dayroom activities, providing patients with a comfortable and engaging environment for social interaction and emotional support. Furthermore, the financial support from GCCE-UK allows the centres to arrange outings and day trips for the patients, offering them moments of respite and joy amidst their challenging circumstances. By providing this ongoing fundraising support, GCCE-UK empowers the palliative care centres to continue their invaluable work, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care, comfort, and opportunities for meaningful experiences during their palliative care journey.

Other than supporting palliative care centres, money raised by GCCE-UK contributes to the improvement of palliative care in other ways such as: funding buses to transport patients to the palliative care centres.
